About Me
The pen is mightier than the sword. For me, a pen was my salvation. Desperate to pay for college, I landed a job as editor of the University of Colorado student newspaper. Writing taught me how to paint stories with words, but when I picked up a camera, I discovered the profound poetry and power of photography. This led to years working as a newspaper photojournalist and visual storyteller.
Photojournalism took me on an extraordinary journey—from the burning ghats of Varanasi, India, to a smuggler’s tunnel in Nogales, Mexico. I rode elephants in pursuit of wild tigers and shattered speed limits in a presidential motorcade. I witnessed life in all its forms—from its joyous beginnings to triumphs, revelations and darkest hours.
Newspapers taught me that well-told stories can change lives. I’ve seen powerful images provide homes for the homeless, food for the malnourished, and care for the dying. Capturing the complexities of the human spirit and creating images that inspire action has been the greatest gift of my profession. I’m drawn to the untold stories of struggle, inequality, and human achievement. I believe in opening minds and inspiring positive change.
Honest stories filled with universal truths are my greatest asset. Working alongside the best journalists in the industry taught me how to find and craft compelling stories and storytelling photographs. My photographs have been published around the world and recognized by every major photojournalism competition.
Today, I channel my storytelling skills into creating powerful imagery and media for corporate, advertising, commercial and nonprofit clients, as well as personal clients. My work has taken me across the globe, producing high-end photography and Emmy-winning films. Besides commercial work, I offer a wide range of personal photography services, including weddings, family portraits, portraits, and headshots. Learn more about my film work at thestoryspeaks.com.
I strive to create powerful storytelling photos from any assignment. If you need storytelling photography or a compelling film, let's work together, No project is too small — I’d love to help you achieve your goals.
